Fall 2013 Girls Soccer Academic State Champions

Liberty Bell High School (2B) and Evergreen Lutheran High School (1B) are Fall 2013 WIAA Academic State Champions


wiaa20logo (1)Every year WIAA requires all sports in every season to submit their team cumulative GPA’s. Every sport, in every classification, is awarded an Academic State Champion for that season, which helps their school accumulate points for the Scholastic Cup State Championship given out at the end of every school year. 

So when this years winner’s were announced, it was no surprise that Liberty Bell High school was awarded their 5th consecutive 2B Girls Soccer Academic State Championship. Liberty Bell High School had an impressive 3.907 overall GPA for their Girls Soccer program, improving on last year 3.845 overall GPA. This years 3.907 GPA is the highest of any Girls Soccer program in the state, at any classification. It is also the 7th highest Fall Sports GPA of any Program at any classification level. That is some accomplishment. Head Coach & Athletic Director Mike Wilson knows the importance of not only competing competitively on the soccer field, but working diligently in the class room. He has done a great Job making sure his program isnt just winning on the field, but in the classroom as well. Congratulations to Mike Wilson and the Liberty Bell Girls Soccer team.

For the 1B schools, Evergreen Lutheran comes out as this years 1B Girls Soccer Academic State Champion. Beating out Mt. Rainier Lutheran who has held this title for the past 2 years. Evergreen Lutheran has an overall Girls Soccer GPA of 3.632. Head coach Stan Cole, who is also Evergreen Lutherans Athletic Director, also know the important’s of succeeding in the classroom as well as the soccer field. Congratulations to Evergreen Lutheran as well for all the hard work in the classroom as well as in the competitive Sea-Tac 1B/2B League.
