Classification adjustments give a nice boost to the 2B/1B girls soccer landscape!
June 13, 2014
In 2009, when the state awarded the 2B/1B classification its own soccer division to compete in for girls soccer, the numbers were good. Then, in 2011 the classification yo-yo took teams to the 1A league leaving the 2B/1B with slim pickins. The WIAA changed the format of the 8 team state tournament to a 4 team state tournament. 2014 looks to change all that again. Based on our recent counts it looks like an 8 team tournament should be returning as classification adjustments have injected the 2B/1B ranks with more teams.
Here is what we have so far. (It is not official by any stretch)
